MOMBASA PORT WILL NOT BE SOLD OR PRIVATIZED

There has been speculation and discussions about an alleged plan to sell or to privatize the Port of Mombasa.
The Government wishes to assure all Kenyans that there will not be any selling or privatization of the said Port. Government Spokesman Dr. Alfred Mutua, has said the port will continue to operate as it is.
In the same token the Government will not sell any shares it owns in different hotels or sell any of the hotels it owns.
The Government will retain its interests on behalf of the Kenyan people in the hotel industry. These two directives are to be adhered to immediately.
Dr. Mutua spoke during the weekly Government Press briefing at his office in Nairobi.
