The reason for our letter is simple, we are undertaking an Initiative to go to Mandera District of Northern Kenya to help distribute food and Water to people who are very much affected by the current drought and it is my personal goal to raise USD$50,000/= in support of the communities residing in Mandera District and other drought and famine stricken areas of Northern Kenya.
For the past one year, Northern Kenya Caucus has been working to assist local community development projects for the benefit of the people of Northern Kenya. Our primary objective is set to inspire communities living in Northern Kenya to tackle their issues and problems in a way that will bring development to them by working with all sectors responsible for development and matters Government so that they achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.
To date, we have done our best to formulate ways in which we can assist Northern Kenya Communities through broad approaches to issues affecting them which has solutions in long term projections. There is a lot of humanitarian and long term projects to do in Northern Kenya but a case in hand is, the implementation of an irrigation scheme to help North Pokot Villages at Lomut and Sigor adjacent areas serving west and North Pokot counties and which will make Pokot County attain self sufficiency in food production. We are committed to building on these and other accomplishments to improve the quality of life in the greater Northern Kenya region. You may see the detailed Maps on our Weblog, http://nkcaucus.blogspot.com
NORTHERN KENYA CAUCUS is taking an initiative dubbed" fight Against hunger" through to Mandera West, Mandera Central and Mandera East. It costs a bag of maize approximately USD $ 25/=(Twenty Five Dollars) to feed a family of 40 people for one week and a further USD $ 25/=(Twenty Five Dollars) to get them water for drinking for themselves and their animals. This will sustain them as we set up a long term goal to sustain these communities once and for all and your donation will go directly toward providing these much needed programs to a very deserving group of people. To some outside Kenya, the sum of USD $50/= may seem very little money and for those in Kenya, A simple lunch will cost you some Ksh500-1000(USD$ 10-20) but to these people, it counts much. The Sum of USD $ 50,000/= may seem a hurdle like a lot of money to raise, however as a group, We know we can do it. Every dollar counts and whether you can make a $15 or $200 donation it will mean a great deal to us at NORTHERN KENYA CAUCUS and to the people in NEP even more.
Your donation is 100% tax-deductable.
